What risks can pregnant women have in relation to Covid-19?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a statement saying that pregnancy can increase the risk of a severe case of Covid-19 and death due to the virus. So if you are pregnant you will have to make a big choice regarding whether you want to get the covid-19 vaccination or not.

Dr. Denise Jamieson of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has said that any pregnant person who wants to get vaccines shall get one, the organisation believes that the benefits of vaccination will outweigh any of the risks that may occur; this is due to animal testing and information from pregnant women who have gotten the Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations so far.

Until recently vaccines have not been tested on pregnant women, but Pfizer last week announced that they will be starting a trial on soon to be mothers. But there are many different opinions, the World Health Organization had advised against any pregnant women getting the vaccine but this has changed as it is believed that the Moderna vaccines are acceptable to pregnant women, but they have also said that the Pfizer vaccination should not be given to pregnant women.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Food and Drug Administration have not disclosed whether pregnant women should take any sort of Covid-19 vaccinations, but Dr. Margot Savoy from Temple University Health has said that the vaccine does not apply to a one-size-fits-all situation. She said that pregnant women should talk to their doctors before any decisions are made. Until then the CSC is to this day collecting data regarding future vaccinations.
